This is the only site in Canada open to the public and grouping a water mill (1825), a wind mill (1836), and the Miller’s house. The Miller mills the grain just as it was done in the old days. You can watch wheat and buckwheat being milled on the water mill. Purchase some flour freshly ground on real grindstones and sample bakery products cooked in a homemade clay oven! The site has a new multifunctional building teeming with activity. Educational workshops (science mills), popular art exhibit, Mid-Lent mask exhibit, and multimedia distribution will make you discover the history and customs of the Islanders.
Open from Saturday, Patriot’s Day in May, up until Thanksgiving Monday in October.
Daily, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm.
