For Sophie Talbot and Michel Nicole, agriculture
is a genuine passion. When the time came to choose a region where they would set up their
business, Charlevoix was the hands down winner!
Ferme Caprivoix thus came into being, in 2008, in
one of the most beautiful rang of the Charlevoix
back country. The farm is a wonderful arrangement of hills and fields and it is the playground for a herd of Kiko and Boer goats. A few horses and about ten Highland cows are also part of the family. And let’s not forget Gaston the donkey, the guardian of the herd!
The owners’ deep commitment to a product of
the highest quality has led to a completely natural
rearing of the animals, without growth hormones
or antibiotics. Goat meat is deservedly renowned
for its nutritional virtues, refined flavour and low fat content. Here, you’ll find it displayed in a variety of cuts and in a range of processed
products such as sausage, cretons, pâtés and other deliciously flavoured rillettes.
The meat cuts and the processed food items can all be purchased at the farm. The processed
delicacies are also available at Laiterie Charlevoix and at the Culinarium du 51.
